On Sat 11th April The Civic will throw open their doors for open auditions for a work-in-development showing of ‘The Boy with the Green Hair’. This will be an exciting opportunity to perform as part of a work-in-development concert version of a NEW musical by Jody Trehy being showcased as part of Cruinniú na nÓg on Sat 6th Jun. We are casting for the role of lead performer (main character – Peter Frye) and also casting for an ensemble of young singers ages 11-14.
Ensemble Auditions
10am – 12pm

Ensemble Age Range from 11-14 Years
Audition requirements-
– Please prepare a song of your choice and a Verse & Chorus of ‘Green’ (OPEN AUDITIONS – The Boy with The Green Hair – The Civic)
*Please arrive from 9:45 pm for registration.
If you are successful at audition for ensemble cast, will need to be available for one evening rehearsal on an evening 1-4 Jun, all day on Friday 5 Jun and up until 3pm on Sat 6 Jun.
Audition for Peter Frye – Lead Role
1pm – 3pm
*12:45 pm for registration.
Audition requirements
Character – Peter Frye, a young American Boy about 11 or 12 years old (slightly older if necessary) , bright, vulnerable, witty, suspicious of adults
The part is musically challenging so the actor should be musically accomplished, preferable with experience of lead roles in musical theatre
The actor should prepare a short song of their choice, or an excerpt and at least a verse and chorus of the song found here (Musicals | Jody Trehy)
