When I Feel Blue – Cyanotype Making Workshop

  • Workshop

This small-group workshop explores cyanotype printing to create a diptych reflecting each participant’s character offering a supportive space for artistic expression.

Beginning with a concise introduction to the cyanotype process before moving into the first stage of the workshop: a self-portrait session.  Digitally capture a portrait, before printing onto acetate to produce a negative. Then creating cyanotype prints of their portrait and make the second part of their diptych using objects they have brought with them, personal items such as jewellery, flowers, or strands of hair – whatever they want, that reflect aspects of their identity. Finally, while the cyanotypes are drying, sharing, if wanted, ideas of future projects they would like to create with their newly acquired technique.
