Nore Boardwalk Mural – Connecting Culture, Community & Creativity

As part of Kilkenny’s River Nore Linear park a new mural is proposed for the underpass at Greensbridge, transforming a neglected space into a vibrant public artwork. This initiative will enhance the pedestrian and cycle boardwalk, improve safety, and celebrate local identity.

The mural will reflect themes which will be developed with community input during November 2025. It aims to reduce vandalism, boost tourism, and foster pride and engagement among residents.

This project supports Creative Ireland’s mission to enable best practice in cultural delivery, increase participation, and connect people meaningfully with their environment through creativity. Public consultation will be conducted via email invitation to local groups and communities.
