Waterford Comhairle na nÓg is hosting an engaging and creative Drug and Alcohol Youth Forum for young people across Waterford aged 12–18. This unique event will provide a safe, supportive space for young people to explore the impact of drugs and alcohol on their lives, their wellbeing, and their futures.
As part of the forum, participants will collaborate with a local artist, Maddie, using a range of creative methods such as art, discussion, and expression-based activities. Through these workshops, young people will be encouraged to share their thoughts, challenge perceptions, and reflect on how substance use can affect mental health, decision-making, and overall wellbeing.
This forum is designed to be youth-led, giving attendees a real voice in shaping conversations that matter to them. It aims to empower participants with knowledge, build confidence, and promote positive choices in a non-judgemental and inclusive environment.
The creative pieces developed during the forum will be brought together and proudly showcased at a special event on Saturday, 6th June. This exhibition will celebrate the voices, perspectives, and talents of Waterford’s young people while raising awareness of the realities surrounding drugs and alcohol.
