Explore & Wonder is an inclusive arts and creativity programme for children and young people with additional needs, and the families and carers who support them. Building on the success of the 2026 initiative, the project will provide high-quality, accessible creative experiences through a partnership between Creative Monaghan and Creative Cavan as part of the Cruinniú na nÓg 10 Years celebrations.
The programme will work with experienced artists and specialist arts organisations to create opportunities for children with complex and sensory needs to engage in creativity in ways that are meaningful, enjoyable and tailored to their individual needs.
In the lead-up to Cruinniú na nÓg, the project will deliver the Sounding the Senses residency programme in two schools in partnership with Ceol Connected. Through a series of specially designed arts experiences, children will have the opportunity to explore music, sound and creativity in a supportive environment. The residencies will conclude with a celebratory sharing event, allowing participants to showcase their creative journeys with their school communities and families.
On Cruinniú na nÓg Day, the project will culminate in a Family Creativity Day, offering a range of sensory-friendly workshops and creative experiences. Information about specific events will be published on the Creative Monaghan and Creative Cavan social media platforms.
