Trad Tine X Cruinniú na nÓg NTE

  • Workshop

Trad Tine X Cruinniú na nÓg is a free, outdoor celebration of Irish traditional arts taking place in Queen Maeve Square, Sligo Town, on the evening of Cruinniú na nÓg. Led by Trad Tine, a Sligo-based organisation dedicated to the presentation, celebration, and transmission of Irish traditional music, dance, and cultural heritage, the event reflects the organisation’s name and ethos—‘tine’ meaning fire—by bringing people together around the warmth and shared energy of living tradition.

Designed for young people and families across County Sligo, the event is fully accessible and welcomes complete beginners. Throughout the evening, audiences can enjoy a fire‑lighting ceremony, a lively traditional music session with opportunities for participation, Irish dancing performances alongside a beginner-friendly dancing workshop, a vibrant youth showcase, a community sing‑along, and a sean‑nós demonstration. By combining performance, hands-on participation, and an inclusive atmosphere, Trad Tine X Cruinniú na nÓg provides an inspiring platform for emerging young artists, encourages creativity and self‑expression, and fosters pride in Irish cultural identity while warmly embracing Sligo’s diverse and growing communities.
